Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA National Conference Grant)

Conference Dates:  Monday, August 21st  – Thursday 24th, 2023

TheDream.US invites you to apply for funding to attend and participate in the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) 2023 Convention. ALPFA is a diverse organization, serving and providing opportunities for professional development across nationalities, not just Latinx populations. ALPFA has more than 95,000+ professional and student members across the country. In addition to networking and professional leadership development opportunities, members have access to paid summer internships through hundreds of Fortune 1,000 corporate partners. Attending professional conferences is extremely beneficial. You learn from others, improve your own skills and knowledge in your future career, and network with professionals who are successful in their field. Please note, you do not need to be Latino, in order to attend this convention or qualify for this grant.

 

TheDream.US will assist you with the following major expenses associated with attending or presenting at this conference:

  • Conference registration fee
  • Air/train fare
  • Up to 3-nights of lodging at the conference hotel

Conference Grants DO NOT COVER:

  • Local travel including to/from the airport or train station to the conference site
  • Gas or tolls for car travel
  • Meals outside those included with the conference registration
  • Hotel and travel accommodations for local conferences

Qualification and Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible to apply if you meet all the following criteria:

  • Currently eligible for the Scholarship when you apply for the grant and when you attend the conference
  • Must submit your grant application by Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 11:59 PST
  • All Scholars, regardless of race/ethnicity, or immigration status are welcome to apply
  • The conference must be directly related to your major/career of interest
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher when you apply
  • Must have earned 30+ cumulative credits by the time you attend the conference
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a LinkedIn Profile Account

If you need flights/train, and hotel accommodations:

  • Must have a valid photo ID (not expired) for hotel check-in
  • Must have a valid travel ID (not expired), if traveling by plane
  • Must arrive in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, August 21st, and depart on August 24th (a 3-night hotel stay – 2 Scholars to a room). Scholars are required to attend the full conference days: August 22nd and August 23rd.  

Please Note:

  • To ensure we are providing this opportunity to as many Scholars as possible, priority will be given to Scholars, who have not already received a Professional Conference Grant.

Application Deadline and Approval Timeline

The application deadline is Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 11:59 pm PST.  Final decisions will be emailed to you by Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE National Conference Grant)

Conference Dates:  Wednesday, November 1st – Saturday, November 4th, 2023

If you are a TheDream.US Scholar in a STEM related field, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) 2023 National Convention is a great networking and professional development opportunity!  TheDream.US is organizing a group of Scholars to attend this national convention of STEM professionals and students for two full days of panel discussions, workshops and networking.  SHPE is a diverse organization supporting all nationalities and ethnicities within the fields of STEM. We encourage all STEM Scholars, including non-Latinx Scholars to apply for this grant.  Please see the information below on how to apply for funding.
