Ireri Rivas Mier y Teran – Senior Program Manager

Ireri Rivas Mier y Teran is a passionate advocate and higher education professional with over fifteen years of experience advancing college access and success for undocumented students. As a first-generation immigrant, first generation college graduate, and activist navigating US systems, she is static to advance undocumented student success in and beyond college. From organizing advocacy efforts to enhance college access in Nevada, to collaborating on a national research study on the impact of DACA, to serving as a mentor to undocumented high school students in Chicago, Ireri proudly stands with and for immigrant and undocumented communities.
Prior to joining TheDream.US, Ireri spent more than eight years at the University of Chicago expanding students’ personal, academic and professional success, focusing on the needs of undocumented, first-generation, lower-income, immigrant (FLI) students, and students of color. She currently serves on the board of Crossroads Funds and is a member of the Coalition for Immigrant Mental Health.
Ireri holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.
